Houston ISD OnTrack
e-Assessment Contest
As the campus OnTrack Liaison for OnTrack, my students and I entered the Houston ISD e-Assessment Video Content. We created a video that demonstrates how students and teachers use OnTrack features to drive instruction. In result of our hard-work and knowledge of OnTrack, we were awarded 1st Place. Both myself and my students received recognition by a visit from the district's Student Assessment department. We were given gifts and recognized on the district's website.

Setting High Expectations
"Post It"
Houston ISD New Teacher Academy
Based on my experience as Campus Instructional Impact Coach and TADS Model Teacher, I was given the opportunity to present at our district's New Teacher Academy. I facilitated a session over Setting High Expectations and how to implement the "Post-It" instructional practice. During the session, participants were given chances to learn the content and interact with their peers to gain a deeper understanding of the content. At the end of the presentation, participants were allowed to ask clarifying questions, win door prizes, and sign-up to receive additional support.

Community Engagement
Family Math (and Science) Night
As a lead math teacher and specialist, I have organized three Family Math (and Science) Nights at two different campuses. The main purpose of these events is to attract students and their families to amazing math and science activities. In addition, provide parents with low-prep activities that can be implemented at home to enforce objectives taught in the classroom. With the support from teachers, aides, and administrators, family math (and science) nights have been a huge success and a joyous event for the entire academic community.

College Readiness
College success and preparation is a topic that I hold close to my heart as an educator. I believe it is important that high school scholars are informed about the admissions process, financial aid, degree programs, and survival techniques all centered around attending college. I have been fortunate enough to sit on a panel with other college graduates and professional at Texas College Night, where I shared my experience with over 5,000 college seniors. In addition, I was allowed the opportunity to conduct my own breakout session over what to consider when attending an historical black college and university (HBCU) and predominately white institution (PWI). As a graduate of both, I shared my experiences and engaged students in the advantages of both types of institutions.

Guided Math Initiative
As a math teacher and teacher specialist, I have had the chance to implement Guided Math in my own classroom and lead my campus in Guided Math implementation. Guided Math proven success is evident in my own practice as a teacher and the practices of my math teammates. Throughout my work as teacher specialist, I have worked closely with district math teacher development specialist to ensure that my campus is continuing to flourish in Guided Math implementation. My role as a teacher specialist has included promoting guided math, providing professional development opportunities, and assisting teachers in creating Guided Math workstations. In the video below, you will hear how Guided Math has impacted my practice as a leader and made a positive impact on instruction.

Mathematize Your Campus
As a campus math leader, my goal is to extend mathematics learning and accomplishments from inside the classroom to the school hallways. Therefore, the Mathematize Our Campus intiatiative was created to highlight student achievement and post interactive bulletin boards in various locations within the campus.
